I have 2 of these devices today - 1 for South Carolina and another for Florida. they work flawlessly. Wish I could us the hose attachment to drain into a floor drain , but I use the water for outdoor plants

works great but hard to clean

This humidifier really does its job. Each time you empty the bucket you can see the amazing quantity of water it takes from the air. It is easy to use, requiring minimal maintenance. I purchased it along with a humidifier to protect my piano and violins from the drastic humidity changes here in the South, and the instruments have now remained completely stable throughout the seasons. (The wood and strings swell with the summer humidity and shrink with the dryness of central heat in winter.) MY ONLY COMPLAINT: the guide directs the customer to clean the bucket periodically, yet is impossible to completely clean the bottom of the bucket, since it is only partially accessible. I can get rid of about 60% of the scum using a long brush, but there is still a lot left. I wish the guidebook informed me of that fact, since I kept thinking I was doing something wrong, and it was really difficult to get information from the company. Hopefully it is not a real problem, since the crud is coming from the air, not going into it.

Really dries out a room, but noisy.

This unit is excellent for drying out a room if you have a home with a moisture problem. Ours has terrible airflow, causing pockets of moisture in closets and other low-traffic areas. Turn it on, close the doors, and in a few hours the room is dry. It'll even dry out your towels in a bathroom if your shower sees a lot of use.It does, however, sound like a jet engine. So forget about running it while you're doing something in the same room. We tend to leave it running on a timer when we leave for the day, and empty the reservoir when we return home. A vital tool in foggy climates where HVAC is uncommon.
