If I could give it zero. I would. I purchased this set in March 2023- in March 2026, 3 years later, I suddenly had a leak. I didnt buy an extended warranty because my prior Whirlpool set had been amazing for 9 years- so I figured GE would stand the test of time. Call out for repair. Soap dispenser issue/leak. $600 fix!!!!! I was so upset, but we just had our floors replaced, so I had to get it fixed. Now, 2 months later, May 2026 & suddenly it sounds like a jet engine on the spin cycle. Call out to 3 places for advice- all say the bearings are bad & to fix it the tub had to be pulled, full breakdown and a $700-$900 fix. All recommended junking it. Im so beyond mad and frustrated that after only 3 years and a recent $600 repair, Im throwing my washer away and having to purchase something else- that wont match my dryer. First world problems I know, but my OCD has its own issues there. Needless to say I did not go wit GE and wont again in the future. Guess the "good old quality days" stayed in the old days for this brand. Horribly disappointed. Do better GE- you put a 10 year warranty sticker on your products but it "doesnt cover that" of course not.....

I have had to have this washer serviced over and over since my purchase. Finally replaced seal on door and now replacing one of the two motors. Leaks from bottom (fills the pedestal drawer in the bottom) always off balance and doesn™™t rinse and drain so I constantly have to the repeat drain/spin cycle. A COMPLETE LEMON!!!!

This machine has not lasted long at all. It™™s barely 5 years old and it seems that the pump is gone on it. It will not pump out water. I have cleaned out the bottom filter had to use shallow pans to continuously dump the water out. Not happy with this machine may have to go to a Bosch.

Why have a warranty when the labor and ™trip fee™ costs more than the motor itself. Shady tactics and a complete scam. Do not buy GE products.

Continuous issue with the washing machine

Such a nice washing machine when it works. I purchased because the detergent autodispense function seemed so convenient and wanted a front load washer to conserve water usage. Unfortunately, within the first yr or two, the machine stopped spinning correctly and the technician that came said it was a motherboard circuit issue which is not under warranty. I found it ridiculous that faulty motherboard isn™™t under warranty but paid $400 only. Another yr or two later, the washing machine started to have intermittent H2O supply issue that™™s im suspect is faulty water inlet valve or pressure sensor. At this point it might be better to just buy a cheap top load washer instead of dumping so much money fixing this washer that barely works for more than couple yrs at a time.

I'd like to give this a negative rating. I am a single person and bought a new washer dryer set 4 years ago. The washer has been down now for 3 weeks. The GE customer service is horrible. I called 4 times and finally got a scheduled service call for a week later only for them to be a no call no show. Found a local to come look and he asked if this was a refurbished unit because it was not lined up right in back of unit. I bought as a brand new unit. Needs new motor,pump,and gasket. Sent 2 emails today and a picture with no response. Never ever purchase from GE

The machine started and shut down. Now it won't turn on. Service tech believes it to be the control board which is a known issue. The repair is more than the machine. GE won't replace the machine or cover any of the repair work for a known issue. Each call to resolve, I get transferred to someone else and explain from the beginning..again...and it is a different excuse for denying repair/replace. All while the hamper overflows.

This washer was LOUD from the beginning. The machine is completely level. We added dampening pads and eventually the drawer beneath, still LOUD. Lucky we added the drawer pedestal because now at the 5 year mark (purchased from best buy in 2020) the washer is leaking into the drawer. Also some of the touchpad buttons by never worked from day one. That should have been the sign.

Clothes and Sheets snagging and ruined

Just before the2 year warranty was up, my sheets and some clothes started snagging. Called to have service come out. We couldn™™t figure if it was the washer or dryer doing it. Repairman just started servicing GE products because they needed someone in northern UT. He did not find any sharp edges in the washer but claims there was something slight in the dryer so he replaced this little piece. Even since then, I still wash most of my clothes in a bag so they don™™t get ruined. Well, my sheets I™™ve never washed that weren™™t in a bag just got all snagged. I guess he didn™™t catch the area in the washer after all. Hubby found 2 drain holes that are rough so far. Not sure how that occurred. Not happy if I have to pay for a repairman to come out because my warranty is up. This washer was bought in July 2023.

We bought this washer in 2020 and finally got it installed in our remolded bathroom in the beginning of 2021. We do about 5 loads of wash each week and the unit has already lost the front door seal and not the door lock switch has failed. So our unit has done roughly 650 loads of wash and failed twice already.

We originally liked this washer it worked well but out of nowhere it stopped washing. There were no error codes, it would just turn on for 3 minutes and then say cycle had ended. The drum and clothes would fill with water and start to wash and then just shut off as if it were done. I called GE and they sent someone out who stated it was the control board but quoted us over $600 to replace it, he didn't recommend replacing it as new washers are almost the same price. Now we have an almost new washer that we paid $1000 that doesn't work and GE will not repair under warranty due to it being electrical. I will never buy another GE product again, specially now that I am seeing this is a common issue with this specific washer and I'm sure GE is aware and doesn't care about making things right with their customers.

Accelerometer board failed. Replacement part this time is on back order already for two months and no one is able to say when it will arrive. From the research appears the part has been modified few time - at least 4 different part number found. To add to the situation so far $300 in laundromat cost, close to half of the price of the new washer. Definitely would not recommend this washer and will not buy another GE appliance again.

The product should have lasted longer than 4 years so we will probably look at other brands moving forward. LEDs to light up the inside of the washer stopped working 1 month after warranty ran out. They now glow very dimly, almost suggesting their existence - but lack the ability to be any sort of useful. Despite "UltraFresh Vent", fighting the battled of soiled laundry continues to be a chore. Never had this issue with my prior (LG) front load washer. We now exclusively run laundry sanitizer with every load. City Water, City Sewer.

I took a leap of faith switching to GE after years of using Maytag, and I regret it. We bought all new GE appliances for our new home, and within two years, the fridge stopped making ice, the control panel completely failed™"no lights, no functions. The washer, which looked great and worked well at first, started having drainage issues and eventually wouldn™™t even turn on. I reached out to GE and spoke with a friendly rep, but the potential parts and service call would™™ve cost $600™$700. Instead, we ended up buying a new Maytag appliance for about the same price. It™™s incredibly disappointing because I™™ve always respected the GE brand. Sadly, this experience has changed that.

Very Disappointed ™ Only Lasted 3 Years. I expected much better from GE, especially for the price. My washer (model GFW650SPN2SN) barely made it past the 3-year mark before the main control board failed ™" a major and expensive repair for something that should™™ve lasted much longer. On top of that, the washer can™™t even handle small loads. If you try to wash a single item, it won™™t spin properly and leaves the clothes soaking wet. For a high-end machine, this is incredibly frustrating. Poor design, poor durability. I won™™t be buying another GE appliance again.

A washer with multiple engineering flaws

I bought this washing machine on 04/2021 and opted for a GE product since the last one I had was also a GE washer that lasted 12 years. A few months ago this machine has been giving a fault of a locked motor rotor. The motor is not locked so it either has to be the inverter or the reed sensor on the motor. In addition to this problem, the main board went bad about three weeks ago. I bought a board online, replaced it and got it working again. However, the problem with the motor still exists and as of now the machine is inoperable. Called GE but they were of no help. The motor is under a 10 year warranty but I'll have to pay for the service call. If it's the inverter, I'll have to pay for everything. They would not waive the cost of the service call, which in my opinion does not place emphasis on customer satisfaction. I understand it's GE's policy regarding warranties, but given my experience with this particular machine, I resolve to never buy another GE product again.

So far it™™s been fantastic. This is our first front loader and there has definitely Been a difference in cleanliness and how much dryer the clothes are after the spin cycles. Not needing an agitator because of how front loaders work is great for capacity and large bedding. This has reduced our drying time in almost half. Very happy so far.

Should not sell the pedestals

I rated this a one to get attention. The washer is a great washer but will not spin properly on the $300 pedestal. Mine kept moving so much during the spin cycle that it is no longer on the pedestal. Defeats purpose of front load washer if you have to get on your knees to put clothes in it and take them out of.

The washer looks nice and ran well for the first year, then came isuue after issue, beginning with occasional leaking from underneath, and followed by stopping mid-cycle, not draining and not spinning. We know to keep the drain filter clean. There are a lot of troubleshooting codes that come up when going into that mode. I finally had Bodewell come look at it. They told me it was no long under warranty and they said it would be over $700 to fix it. Well, that's basically the price of a new top load washer, which is exactly what I did, but I didn't get GE. And because of this stupid washer, I will never buy GE again. If other appliances fail, I'll replace them with something else. That's how upset I am with poor quality of this washer. You expect a brand new washer to give you at least 5 years. Don't waste your money!

After 4 years I have been having to call a technician out for either spin cycle doesn™™t work or dispenser doesn™™t work or it leaks. Now spin cycle doesn™™t work again and will have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for a tech to come out. I can replace washer faster than that!

After a little over a year of service we began having issues with auto fabric dispenser Repair service quote for parts where $380 and installation almost $400 , we now use dryer sheets instead

This is a horrible product. After just 18 months its almost entirely stopped working. You unfortunately only offer only a 1 year warranty that just doesn™™t cover this poorly constructed appliance. I couldn™™t be more disappointed in this washing machine, and it™™s just super unfortunate that a company of this magnitude puts a product like this on the market.

We loved this washer however it didn't last much , within 4 yrs, it cancelled the cycle and wouldn't spin on high speed, as a result of which the clothes weren't clean and still carry water.

I like this washer, it does a nice job BUT it is leaking after just over 2 years of use. Of course, out of warranty and I am on my own. They should be built well enough to last more than just 2 years. I take really good care of my washing machine and only use powdered detergent, I clean the filters, never use softener and let the machine dry with the door ajar. It really should last me much longer without needing repair.

Do not purchase. After having this machine for two years, and rarely using it, we now have to buy a new one. We use this machine at most 7x a month because it is at our other home. At about 11 months we had to have it serviced because it stopped spinning and now at 22 months it has completely stopped spinning again and now it is out of warranty. After looking at reviews it seems to be the theme you get 2 year use out of this machine. I just don't get how it is on any best seller list. Do Not Buy

Bought the front load washer and dryer a couple years ago and we are having issues with it leaking water from the door (it™™s clean) and half the time it won™™t spin the water out of the load. I tried getting a service appt but it says they have no one in the area and that they are out of warranty. It™™s nice to have the app but will never buy a front load washer and dryer again.

I bought this washer 3 years ago. The door was stuck locked, repairman came and took it apart. Changed the door lock and it worked for 2 months. Another repairman came and changed the lock and the control board. Unable to make it work. At this point I have $500 in repairs and parts. He told me that he can continue to order parts and replace, but doesn™™t know what™™s wrong. I liked the ultra fresh feature, and how the clothes were washed. But I™™m looking to buy another - was hoping not to add to the landfill!

Unit failed with a bad motor issue which is still covered under the 10 warranty. GE doesn't have service techs/vendors in my area so I'm out of luck getting my unit repaired. Local service providers in my area quote repairing unit is more than just buying a new unit.
