Delivered with ™€œdoor in door™€ function inoperable (would not latch shut), there™€™s an obvious gap in the gasket on one door that seals against the body of the fridge, the fridge doors are nowhere near parallel and the best part - the unit DOESN™€™T COOL. Let it run nonstop for the recommended 24 hours and the inside of the unit was warmer than the room temp. So I had to call service to schedule a tech to come to the house to HOPEFULLY fix all the issues with this unit - or get me a new one on order. So I get to rearrange my work schedule to be here to deal with this. If the initial quality is this bad for a fridge in this price range I can only imagine how the other models must be!

Side-by-side GE Profile refrigerator

In general I love my new refrigerator. The door-in-door option is especially nice when retrieving a quick item like a carton of milk. If I had to change anything it would be to put the ice maker in the freezer. Having the ice maker in the door almost eliminates storage in this door - I™€™ve only been able to put small items like sticks of butter on these two upper shelves which makes them pretty much wasted space. Freezer space is more than generous and having temperature controls etc. on the door is extremely convenient. Color options (white or black) might be nice on this model as not everyone wants stainless.

We bought all GE appliances when we built our new home. Top of the line we were told. So far we have had to replace 3 of our five appliances in the past 5 years. We spent a lot of money and have had to replace the fridge, microwave, and my husband is currently putting in a new dishwasher. Waited almost 2 years for someone to come look at the fridge and just said forget it!! Yes we had the warranty and yes they quit working after. So unhappy and no response from anyone.

Great styling and features but a service nightmare

Bought an earlier version of a similar model, PFD28KSLISS, in December of 2019. I like both the exterior and interior styling, which is modern and clean. I used the ice/water dispenser, and particularly love the door-in-door feature, which lets me grab items like milk, soda, beer quickly. I don™€™t use the autofill often, but it™€™s nice to get it going while I continue to attend to other tasks while it does its thing. Unfortunately, within the last few weeks I noticed that the ice dispenser started to leak water, enough to fill the tray and spill onto the floor. I then realized food items in the freezer section had thawed and then re-frozen. Soon after I noticed that the fresh food section would sometimes get as warm as 50 degrees, but not necessarily in synch with the freezer section acting up. Since I was out of the one-year warranty period I called a local appliance company to do diagnostics. They suggested the compressor would probably need to be replaced and gave me a quote for the serviced if I decided to proceed. Here is where the story gets interesting for you potential buyers of GE appliances. Before I decided to move forward with any service, I was looking through the user and care manual - the same one you can download from this site - and realized that the Profile models have a 5-year limited warranty on the sealed system. I was very excited to make this find when I did and contacted the GE authorized service provider listed in the manual. The earliest I could schedule service was nine calendar days in the future ™€“ which is a long time to be without a fridge - but I booked anyway, and before the technician arrived explained to him the situation and relayed the notes the previous technician had provided. Before even seeing the fridge in person, he informed me that since service had been performed by an unauthorized technician and the system has been ™€œtapped into™€ he would not be able to do any work. Subsequently, he decided to void my warranty and didn™€™t provide any diagnostic evaluation during his visit. I have spent numerous emails and phone calls, including to the other service provider, refuting the false claim that the system had been altered in any way, and trying to understand why a warranty would be voided for diagnostics work, even by an unauthorized technician. The appliance service contractor has been elusive on providing details as to why they are claiming the system has been serviced, which it has not. This review is a little long, but I can summarize it this way. I have an expensive Profile model GE fridge which is failing in less than 5 years of ownership. The GE authorized service contractor has summarily voided my warranty, has refused to provide any objective evidence that the fridge has been serviced by another contractor, and I™€™m now caught in the mode of trying to decide if I pay to have service performed by another company or if I buy a new fridge. That™€™s why I™€™m on this site costing new models, even though it™€™s uncertain if I would buy GE again after this experience. I would have thought that GE would want to stand behind its brand, especially the Profile line. I realize failure in under 5 years is probably not common, but I expected the company to do a better job standing behind its product. Putting me through this sort of hassle is an all-time low in customer service and seems a bit abusive in the attempt to draw it out. So buyer beware.

The right side door didn't fit properly upon delivery. Fortunately or unfortunately, this was replacing another unit, so, rather than not havin a refrigerator for who knows how long. The delivery guys were able to temporarily put theold units door on until a the new 1 shows up.

Cold water from will only fill one glass. 2nd glass is warm. Ice maker jamms constantly. Fingerprints show up all over the place. Shelves are acrylic and scratch so easily I had to put frosted contact paper to hide the scratches.. Not happy with the price 3,799.00 from Lowes.

Well, I have only had my new gal 2 hours but she is so darned close to my old GE I am thrilled. It is a modern updated version of my old one except slightly smaller and with ice maker now in door, which I think I like better also. I love that I don't have to use stainless cleaner on doors anymore. Hoping this one will have the longevity of my old one then I will be super thrilled. Love my GE's. I will perhaps follow up with a more thorough evaluation after a months time. And I have no doubts that will be glowing as well.

I've never been so dissatisfied with any product before. We are on our second non working refrigerator and freezer in less than 6 months. We have called over 14 times in the last 2 months since we started closely tracking our conversations. We have thrown out countless amounts of food due to the inconsistent cooling from the refrigerators and freezers. The ice makers have never worked and we even paid for the 2nd icemaker. If I could give a negative review I would. I have never written a negative review before on any product ever. Never buy this product unless you are looking for extra frustration.

I really like the features of this fridge. I wasn't sure how well I would like the door in door feature, but I ended up really liking it for quick grab items like butter and milk. I feel like there could be more storage in the door in door and another shelf would have been nice. The really like the autofill feature for the water in the door. Great features, but quit working in a month

I really like the features of this fridge. I wasn't sure how well I would like the door in door feature, but I ended up really liking it for quick grab items like butter and milk. I feel like there could be more storage in the door in door and another shelf would have been nice. The really like the autofill feature for the water in the door. It is a spacious and the layout is nice. However, the compressor died after a month and ultimately had to have it replaced.

Great quality fridge. It is sturdy and offers a lot of storage room especially with components that move. My favorite part of the fridge is the water auto fill. We replaced Our Samsung fridge that constantly had issues with this one and have not been dissatisfied.
