Won't Last Long: 2021-2026

We've never been more disappointed in an appliance purchase. Our refrigerator was installed in Fall of 2021. We woke up to a warm refrigerator and freezer in July of 2026. We had it looked at for repair. The total in repairs was going to cost at least $2000! How could this be? It's only 5 years old. Ridiculous. The compressor had gone and there was a possible internal leak. Our repair technician walked us through all of the possible fixes (which weren't even guaranteed to work). The technician recommended a new refrigerator and he certainly did not recommend GE. I just can't believe that this $3500, almost new refrigerator lasted for 5 years. We'll be staying away from GE appliances from now on.

We've had nothing but problems with the fridge. GE replaced the doors because they were warped from day one. The ice door has been replaced twice and still does not seal. Ice tray leaks and has large chunks of ice build up.

I am most pleased with the operations and design of the refrigerator. However, the first refrigerator that was delivered is dented. The installation crew was a wrecking crew, and did not know how to install the ice maker in the freezer section. Had to order another, that one was dented upon delivery as well. Keeping fingers crossed the third one will be the charm.

It's hard to write much of a review since I haven't even had this refrigerator for 24 hrs, but so far, it surpasses the Samsung it replaced. We only looked for a couple of days, but I knew what I was looking for so when I saw it, we bought it the next day (my husband likes to make sure he's getting the best deal, which we did!). :D I'm very happy with the amount of space I have! I love that the ice maker is in the door rather than taking up valuable space, and love the bins on the door that covers the ice machine...great for those small items that get "lost" so easily! It's also very quiet; I didn't even hear the ice drop! I chose the black stainless steel and LOVE that it isn't a stark black...but actually looks more like a dark charcoal. The lights were one of the biggest issues I've had with refrigerators...always way too bright. These LED "dimples" are so cool! They light up the WHOLE fridge without being "in your face" bright! LOVE IT!

If there was a -0 I would have chosen that. Where do I start? We purchased a refrigerator GE profile from Kleckners and Sons. Within 5 days, the refrigerator stops working. Lost a lot of food again. A week later got a replacement. The next day that one died. Check on your assembly personnel to make sure they are doing it right. A replacement is being delivered tomorrow for the second time. This is the most frustrating adventure to go through. I had recently gotten out of the hospital with blood clots in my lungs plus I had 2 hip replacements and going up and down 2 flights of stairs to get to the basement refrigerator is not fun. I would like to be compensated for my aggravation and food loss. Hopefully, the third one will be ok.

Three years for a refrigerator that cost $2,700 is ridiculous. I changed parts multiple times, and had the GE service man at my house as well. It's absurd! Warranty? It's not covered. So to have the repair guy fix it (again) I have to pay $700. I DON'T THING SO! Never again GE. Oh, by the way... I own a kitchen & bath showroom where I spec out GE appliances... HA! Not anymore. I will warn everyone to stay away from this company. Their products stink, and the customer service stinks. Not to mention I overpaid for the product to begin with!!!

Our 27 year old side-by-side finally gave up the ghost. This was an easy decision since we updated our microwave and dishwasher to the GE Profile line within the last 12 months and knew the fridge was next. It did not disappoint! The interior is huge, well lit and sight lines for the contents of both the refrigerator and bottom freezer are excellent. The storage compartments are well designed. Water and ice in the door is a convenience that carried over from our previous fridge and auto fill is a great feature. Another plus: It's very quiet when operating. All in all an excellent addition to our kitchen.

DO NOT buy GE slate anything. I bought this refrigerator 9 months ago and it stopped working. They can™€™t exchange it because they are not keeping up with the Slate color. They won™€™t have a new, comparable one, available for at least 4 months. I had to buy a whole new set of appliances and they did not help at all with the other 3 appliances. Who wants a brand new kitchen with mismatched appliances. They also would not pay for the second ice maker that we bought from them because it is an accessory. I'm getting used to the noisy refrigerator and the ice dispenser that spews ice out when dispensing. ( Ice flies out on to the floor.) Door stays open when my arms are full cause it has to close using force. Other than these drawbacks, the space inside is very good.

The ice maker is extremely noisy and does not have enough capacity to keep up with our usage. The freezer already has condensation forming under where the ice/water dispenser is located which seems highly unusual since we have only had the fridge for 3 days. This is the second french door style fridge I have purchased from GE and I am feeling like I made a mistake selecting another GE fridge. I have another brand fridge that is also a french door style fridge at another location that is still running strong and I have had it well over 10 years. My last GE fridge lasted 5 years at best before the compressor went out. Why would replacing the compressor cost as much as buying a new fridge? The only things I like so far is the look and the amount of space.

There is lots of room in the refrigerator. and freezer. I've been making a lot of use to store pickled vegetables. My only concern is that you need to use extra strength to close the doors. Our alarm goes off so many times a day. My grand daughter has a hard time closing the door.

Serious quality issues with the in door ice maker

First, you have to buy their water filters at their high prices. The second issue is the ice maker in the door. It will freeze up and you have to clear it out before you can get ice. Not that difficult, but very messy. Expect ice all over your floor. Now the issue is the ice door latch. It™€™s made of very flimsy plastic that™€™s already broken twice. Now the mount point, also plastic, is broken and it looks like the only way to fix it is to replace the entire inside left door panel if it™€™s even available. Oh, and this is for a product that™€™s less than three years old.

Questionable appearance.

Just delivered today. Has dent in left side door which we were told is normal on GE Profiles just above display panel. That insulation can™€™t be put there so it caves in a bit. I will be discussing this with my salesman on Monday. No easy instructions how to set up and get off ™€œdemo mode™€. Other than that will have to wait and see if all is as it should be.
