Would NOT recommend this washer. Bought it in November 2023. Had it for 2 years and had 2 control boards replaced and door lock actuator replaced. To GE credit all repairs were paid for by them, but I had to negotiate 2 of them as they were after the first year and even then they were reluctant. Overall, clearly a defective design or model. In addition, the soap dispensing tray constantly got nasty. I would thouroughly clean it and within a month would have black slime all in it...and yes, we were diligent about leaving it pulled out and door open to dry gasket. In the end, we went with a different brand for the washing machine (and back to top loader) and have been happy with that choice. The matching dryer has been great, with no needed repairs! We also have had a GE Refrigerator for a couple of years and been very happy with it so far! Also have a GE Profile dishwasher and it's also the best one we've had so far!

Disappointed in GE Washer

I bought the Washer and Dryer back in November 29, 2023. I was building a new home so we kept all the appliances in the garage until we moved in July 2025. I™€™ve used the washer for a year and yesterday it stopped working. It shuts down after selecting wash settings and pushing Start™€¦in less than a minute it clicks and the screen goes blank. No error codes, nothing! After 1 year of light use! I need a Main Control Board, an Inverter Control Board, and Drain Pumps! I had my previous set for 30 years, I gave them away when I moved and they still worked. The repairs are $1,467.53. I might as well buy a new machine. There™€™s no recall either, for what I paid for my washer, out of warranty 1 year 8 months, used for 13 months there would be something Customer Service could offer but they don™€™t. They™€™re putting cheap boards in these machines that are not easily replaced to DIY. I own all GE appliances in my old home and now my new home and I dread not having a warranty on them. I had my old appliances and never needed a warranty because they were made so much better. It™€™s a shame, the machine is beautiful and well cared for and now this! I tried to attach a video but the form doesn™€™t go anywhere.

Had high hopes but....

Did months of research before deciding on this washer/dryer combo. It was between this and an LG combo. I chose GE over LG primarily because of the venting system of the GE; even though I felt the LG was slightly more reliable. Has all the right features and seemed to get high praise from owners and repairman alike. Purchased in March of 2025. When it worked it worked well. But now, just three months after warranty has expired, my washer will not even power on. Got serviceman out and he replaces main board. As soon as he plugs it in, the new board gets fried. After some calls he tells me my fifteen old month washer is not worth repairing. Very disappointed to say the least. Regretting not going with the LG products now.

Even under warrantee this machine had parts replaced to fix the intermittent failure to extract. After 23 month the selector knob only work in ™€œnormal™€ setting all others don™€™t work. The issue is I often have soaking wet laundry and wish I could just turn to ™€œrinse&spin™€ but it™€™s not functional. I can only do normal loads or quick wash. Numerous calls to Costco and GE were made DURING warranty period tek came and made sp called ™€œrepair™€ but it™€™s still non functional. GE states that machine is out of warranty now, even though it™€™s still the same issue that was never fixed. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Never again will I trust GE. May you be guided by my poor experience. They got my $ and that™€™s all they care about.

I™€™ve had trouble with washing cycles not completing and leaving clothes standing in water, water standing under the washer and ruined 8 tiles, and so many other issues. It was delivered in February 2024, issues began in January 2026. Before it ran out of warranty. The appliance company made many trips to replace several things over the course of 4 months until GE deemed the washer unrepairable in May 2026. Even though the issues began and was documented with the appliance company beginning in January™€™26, GE will not replace the washer because they said it was out of warranty. Delivered on February 9th, 2024 and the issues began a month before that and they don™€™t want to replace it. I am single so the washer didn™€™t even last for 2 years and it that was washing for 1 person during the time it was first purchased. Terrible customer service, terrible washer and as a whole just a bad experience with this company. I bought a GE dishwasher and refrigerator within a few months of buying the washer but I™€™ll never return to this company for any product. When a company backs their products and are fair to people it goes a long way with the public. When they treat you as they did me it tells you everything you need to know. If customer service sucks, usually the products do too.

Persistent drain failures, sham warranty, and a re

GE Profile PFW950SPTDS. Purchased 2023, installed early 2024. Just over two years in, the machine stopped completing cycles and water sat stagnant in the drum. Root cause: failed control board and drain pump. Both failures hit conveniently after the 1-year parts warranty expired ™€" despite the ™€œ10-year warranty™€ sticker prominently displayed on the appliance itself. GE dispatched Bode as their authorized repair company. They charged me for a repair that did not fix the problem, then couldn™€™t return for weeks. I had to go outside GE™€™s authorized network entirely ™€" a non-GE repair company ™€" just to get the machine functional again. That™€™s how bad the authorized experience was. The machine is now showing the same drain failure symptoms again. For a premium appliance at this price point, two major component failures in under two years is unacceptable on its own. Add a warranty that doesn™€™t cover the parts that fail, and an authorized repair network that leaves you worse off than before, and this is a product I cannot recommend. I won™€™t be purchasing GE appliances again.

Washer failed twice & GE warranty repair failed

So disappointed in this GE washer experience. I've owned several GE Profile appliances over the years so when it came time to buy a new washer and dryer I bought what I thought was a top-of-the-line set of GE products for thousands of dollars. This washer ($2399 itself) has broken twice in the first 28 months of use, and from reading several other reviews on this site the problem I'm experiencing is not an isolated issue but a known problem. Purchased December 2023. Right before the two year warranty expired in November 2025 the washer stopped washing and the door locked up with wet clothes inside. In short, the washer would generally run for a few minutes and then say it was done with soaking wet and dirty clothes in the washer. Went through ALL of the troubleshooting steps multiple times without result and called for warranty service through my retailer (Costco). Repair techs came out and fixed it after ordering parts (main control board and a new door lock) and I thought it was a done deal and just a fluke. Four months later the same thing started happening again. I called my retailer again to find out the coverage on the previous warranty repairs themselves, and they conferred with GE, and I was told the repairs were only warrantied for 30 days and the warranties on the parts themselves was not available to me as a consumer. Furthermore, Costco advised that GE apparently did not send out techs from their "network" (we live in a metropolitan area) and so GE wouldn't stand behind the work those techs did. GE told Costco I should call the repair place myself to see if they would back their work, and of course when I did that they told me to call GE. As a consumer, I expect if there is a problem in the warranty period it will be fixed correctly by technicians who can definitively solve the problem, and the same part shouldn't fail again a few months later. I (sort of) get it if it's a different part that fails, but when it's the same part that fails common sense should indicate the right thing for GE to do here. Now I'm faced with either pouring more money to repair a machine that might fail again days, weeks, or months later after an expensive repair, or just cutting my losses and just buying a new machine. Terribly expensive math either way.

Poor Performance

Excellent capacity, but poor performance. The Programming knob went off and was not able to set it to the correct cycle. It was fixed. Six moths later it shut off. MOther board changed, Lock changed finally the water pump was not working. Thanks God still was under warranty. Very sad and disappointed, because it looks great and the features are fantastic.

unfortunate review after a good "almost" two years

I have enjoyed my GE Profile washer, PFW950SPTDS, for almost 2 years. I took care of it by cleaning it on schedule, avoiding fabric softener, and using only the Tide auto-dispense through the GE auto ship. My clothes came out clean, odor-free, and with no mold or staining on the gasket. That was one of my concerns when buying a front-load washer. What I wasn't expecting was such a short lifespan for such an expensive set. Today, I discovered that my washer was acting erratically. When I would turn it on, it stays on for about 15 seconds, lets me pick a cycle, but won't start. The relay just clicks in the back, and it shuts off. I was looking at the reviews for the main board - WH22X37840, and was shocked by how many people are having this problem. It's completely unacceptable that such a well-known issue remains unresolved, and the recommendation is to hire their in-house service tech to replace the $200 board and what's probably $400 in labor and diagnostic fees. Potential buyers should consider my tale of caution when considering a brand that has a known defective part that fails just outside of warranty and does nothing to make it right. Look up the reviews for the board with over 100 one-star reviews.

Horrible product, breaks down in 13 months

Bodewell is just a shill for GE with no solutions, felt ripped off Bodewell is just a shill for GE. I purchased an extended warranty on GE Profile Washers/Dryers from Assurant and was told they always use Bodewell to service GE products (Bodewell is owned by GE). The 2 year old washer has broken down 3 times since the product came out of the manufacturer's 1 year warranty 2 years ago. The first time just 1 year and 1 month after purchase. After 2 more breakdowns after Bodewell supposedly "fixed the problem", it has broken down again, just 40 days after the last time they "fixed" it. A Supervisor at GE/Bodewell, "Moe" was very condescending in her conversation with me and said that the service technician must "determine" that the product is un-fixable for Assurant to replace it. This washer is only 2 years old, with the first breakdown occurring after 13 months (conveniently 1 month out of warranty on original GE Profile purchase warranty). Bodewell does not want to have to tell the extended warranty company that it is unrepairable and force Assurant to provide a replacement washer because Bodewell wouldn't get any further work from Assurant in the future.....so they continue to supposedly "fix" the washer, only to have it break down again and again. BUT, GE was happy to tell me I could buy a new machine at a small discount for my "troubles" (These retail at about $1600). This was a GE Profile, top of the line washer when I bought it. GE and Bodewell (both the same company) does not stand behind their products. Never again, I will buy LG in the future. BTW, I was transferred 9 TIMES when I called Bodewell to ask that they just tell Assurant that the product is unrepairable, instead of trying to shabbily "fix" it. "Well, the repair technician will have to make that determination" is the answer I got. The last person I spoke with at GE/Bodewell, Moe, was so unbelievably patronizing it was a disgrace. Be forewarned, GE Appliances is not the company it used to be after it's sale to a foreign investor and they do not care about their customers after the sale. At all. GE can continue to do what they want, but not with me as a future customer.

Our unit lasted 2 years. Changed control board twice, once out of pocket and now cycle ends after 2 minutes. Error codes 91, 38, and 3. Repair work and parts cost too much these days so moving to an LG washer. Will not buy another GE Appliance. Companies that charge $1500 for a washer, and only give it a 1 year warranty, don't get second chances from me.

I purchased a GE Profile PFW950SPTDS in June of 2024, and in October of 2025, 4 months out of warranty, the inverter board failed, and that allegedly blew out the main circuit board. The unit is a total loss. Meanwhile, my last GE Profile purchased in 2020 died after 4 years. Really GE??? Is this what you call product quality? I cannot believe this is the best that an American manufacturer can do. I feel like I've been taken. At least this time I purchased an extended warranty, but we've been without a washing machine for almost a month now, and now we have to wait weeks longer to get the check from the extended warranty company, order the replacement unit, wait for it to come in, wait for delivery... do yourself a favor and buy a different brand.

I would not purchase this item again. Spent 1300 on a "Quality Washer" 3 years later a circuit board goes out and we can not use it it would cost almost 1000 dollars to fix it. When you spent this amount of money on an item then it should last longer than 3 years.

The capacity, cycle features, and even the noise level are not too bad at all. The real issue is the performance. We are a married couple and don™€™t use the machine as often as a family. We clean it out monthly and typically run it every few days, sometimes going even longer between uses. That said, within just two years (as of today), the control board has failed, and now I have to pay for a replacement and installation. For an appliance this expensive and relatively new, it should have lasted much longer. I™€™ve also read that there™€™s a good chance another component may fail even after the board is replaced. I can™€™t predict the future, but it™€™s definitely something to be aware of. At this point, this will probably be my last GE appliance. We had this washer for 1 1/2 years. The limited warranty last for a year for a reason cause that™€™s how long it lasted! Luckily we bought as extended warranty with Allstate. One day it just stopped spinning. Allstate replaced motor, belt and now the inverter board. We were told the issues with the washer are beyond repair. So they will either replace it with the same junk or pay us out. We have been without a washer for 3 weeks as a family of 4 with kids in sports! Of course we have the dryer to match which is the carbon black color so we are limited. We paid over 3k for this washer and dryer combo!! NEVER AGAIN!! Don™€™t waste your money!!

Junk. One month to the day after the warranty expires it stopped working. Replaced the pump and work for about another month then the door lock jammed. Replace the lock. The next thing that went out was the control board. My biggest regret is buying the matching dryer one month before the warranty went out™€¦now it is a ticking time bomb. I guess I will get a different brand now and wait for the dryer to fry next year when its warranty goes out. I™€™ve never written a bad review for an appliance in my life and I™€™ve had some stinkers. Guess there is a first time for everything.

Ruined my brand new remolded laundry room floor

Not user friendly regarding the load type and not even 30 days of use it started leaking during every wash and ruined our brand new flooring. The seal was defective and had to be replaced.

Worked great for just under 2 years, then one of the 7 mainframes went down ( The one to wash the close). Called technician and its $700 to fix. Then informed me that GE washers are his most frequent calls and this particular model gives you 3 years max before its cost you more to fix that you paid for it. Next up is the next mainframe that causes leaking (aka mold). Needless to say I'm extremely disappointed to have paid so much money for a washer to last me 2 years. For what? A pretty blue color - no thanks! Going back to my trusted LG

I really like the automatic detergent sensor. It's adjustable to do less or more detergent to your liking. And I don't have to mess with laundry bottles as much. My clothes come out fresh and clean.

Bought June 2024, died April 2025. GE says I'm out of warranty. Device said h2o error and shut off. The door is locked with clothes stuck inside and won't unlock. It just power cycles constantly. Stay away from GE!!!

This washer is efficient and has presets that work for any type of load that our family needs. It is a bit noisey , but that is too br expected. It can wash a big load with no issues and even has a quick wash feature if you are washing a small load. Works like a rocket ship and looks like a Cadillac!!! I would purchase again.

Buyer Beware Junk and poor support from GE

This washer is trash! At 15 months it stopped spinning the loads. I have the extended warranty that GE recommended and the service provider is Sears. They are absolutely Horrible!! They have been to my home 7 times in the past 4 months and have no showed 4 times. I have been without a washer for 4 weeks due to a used board that they put in to try to fix the washer. Now it will not work at all. I have called GE and was told that they recommend contacting the warranty company ugh. The warranty company is out of the country so good luck!! super rude and no one to escalate my concern. I purchased a Samsung Washer tonight, Sears did not show up again today!! Once you purchase from GE and your 1 year warranty is expired the will not help you at all regaudless of the situation. I was informed by the first Sears provider that the installer left the moving panel on the back of the washer! The installer was a GE certifide installer as I purchased directly for GE. I will never purchase a GE appliance again!!

I've been using this washer for several months and it's absolutely the best that I've used in my lifetime... so many features and mostly automated. The machine is easy to program has a variety of programs and many customization options. I've had nothing but excellent results with minimal effort in doing laundry!

so far, so good. Only had this washer installed a few weeks ago. But it is HUGE. Despite online dire comments, I have not found the spin cycle to be any noisier than my previous front loader. Love the convenience of multi load detergent dispenser.

DO NOT BUY! I purchased this washer and within 4 months water began leaking. Multiple service call through GEs warranty department were conducted. After a long list of replaced parts and over 6 visits I still have a leaking washer. 2 different technicians have said the machine is not repairable. GE responded with blanket answers that do not fix the problem and had so far refused to replace the machine and stand by their warranty. Stand by your warranty and replace the machine and I will reconsider my review, so far 1 star.
