Very quiet and efficient however there is no way to disable the beeps it makes when you push buttons. They terrify my dog and make it difficult to use as my dog then won™€™t come back inside the house.

More cons than pros.

The unit does not maintain an accurate temperature. I have to set it to 78 degrees to keep my small office at 70 degrees. Also, the dehumidifier setting is off. My room is regularly 60-70% humidity even with the unit set to dehumidifier mode. The only good thing so far is that it is very quiet! Although, the front filter grate does rattle at times.

Quiet and works great

We have larger windows than standard and needed a window unit immediately for a new baby™€™s room during the recent heat wave. This model was available nearby and looked better than other options. We™€™ve been very pleased as it was easy enough to install (kind of heavy but I managed to get it in and out of the car and up several stairs by myself) and nice and quiet. It was a bit pricey but worth it.

This AC unit is a disgrace. I bought it 4 years ago, and year after year, once it has been 80+ degrees and humid for 2 days it just stops working. Even on high, once it is a few days of high heat/humidity, air just stops pumping out. The air coming out is the strength of a gentle breeze despite being very loud and sounding like it has gravel in it. But air pumps out great on the first warm day! It just seemingly cannot handle more than 1 hot day in a row. It has been like this since the first summer I had it. I did so much research on what unit to get, how many BTU to get, etc, all for nothing. The non-air conditioned rooms in my house are cooler than my bedroom! It is nighttime and only 70 degrees outside right now but it has been 80-90 all week during the day and my apartment gets so hot because its on the third floor, wont cool down, and the ac does literally nothing to help. My roommate has a much cheaper tiny dumpy ac in his room and it works better than this one. I cant believe I spent hundreds of dollars and did hours of research, all for this. Now I have to spend hundreds more on a new ac unit.

Minor improvements to be made

The PHC06ly is all around good from looks and functionality had it for two years until i got rid of it how ever the cons are the outdoor fan should be a fixed speed not a two speed the higher fan speed is what makes this unit noisy also the outdoor fan shouldnt stay on 24/7 on cool mode when the compressor shuts off its a waste of energy and unnecessary it should come on with the compressor and shut off when the compressor shuts off there is also no insulation in the unit outdoor air come in and is noticed when the unit is off and a slide out chassis would complement this unit. Pros runs quiet compressor is hardly noticeable it blows cold even air easy to maintain and the unit holds it memery from its last setting using smart hq and easy to maintain. Some minor improvements and adding a little more air flow will make this air conditioner definitely worth buying although i will buy this model again.

Grows mold like crazy!

I™€™ve had this AC for a little over a year. It started fantastic, however, this AC is a breeding ground for mold. I discovered the mold by chance while painting in a room (happened to look inside the unit as I was standing above it) and I am absolutely disgusted. The entire blower is covered and is unsafe to use. For the price, I would expect this air conditioner to last more than two years! Or at the very least, have the ability to be taken apart so that the unit could be thoroughly cleaned.

Energy consumption, loud rattle, and no HomeKit

This is the 3rd air conditioner of the same exact model and hate it. Since we™€™ve had it, it™€™s averaging 43 kWH higher than the other two per week (50 kWH vs 7). This is 7 times more energy consumption for absolutely no reason and is even with ™€œenergy saving™€ mode turned on. To make matters worse, it recently started making a very loud rattling noise within the unit. It has something to do with the fan because the rattle speed corresponds to fan speed. For an ultra quiet air conditioner, it™€™s perhaps the loudest air conditioner we™€™ve ever owned. And for my final complaint, it seems that some GE decided to quietly remove HomeKit compatibility over the last few years. The other two air conditioners of the exact same model are HomeKit compatible, so no idea why this doesn™€™t have it. This was one of the main reasons why I bought it again. I wish to use HomeKit since the GE app can™€™t control everything else on my house and wish not to use the app just for the one air conditioner. I mean, I get the business reason (GE wants to collect our usage data), but is very anti-consumer. To be clear, we love the other two air conditioners under this model number, but feels like a totally different appliance. What a huge disappointment.

Pretty good unit, but has the same fatal flaw of all their other quiet units. It will not use E-save mode and auto fan at the same time. The older model at least just refused to shut off the fan. This version ices up the fan, so you can either choose to use E-save, or Auto-fan, but not both. This is such a bizarre product flaw, especially to be carried across two products. It's literally the most likely combination of settings, and yet, they can't be used together or the unit will malfunction. (And I've been told this by support during several phone calls.)

It functions quite well. I appreciate having wifi control and the aesthetics are fine. My only complaint is how far this model projects into the room (I also have the 13K btu of this series which actually extends into the room less) A little cumbersome for the tight quarters in my bedroom, otherwise wouldn't be an issue. I did know the dimensions before buying, but this was still the best option for the price and I have no regrets.

Lacking in Fan speed

This unit's blower motor does not produce enough air to efficiently cool. The app does not control all functions. For example you cannot turn on the dry/dehumidification mode from the app. This is a main feature of the air conditioner, A very easy software update to address fan speed and allow to turn on the dry mode would make this AC5 stars.

I ordered a refurbished, GE Profile window, air conditioner. I cannot be more than extremely satisfied with this. It did come with a little bit of smudge, but after wiping it down and wiping off the filter, it looked brand new. Was a simple to set up the Wi-Fi, but it flawlessly gets my room so cold so quick, lol I love that the extra features on it gives this two thumbs up in my opinion

The WiFi didn't work. GE made me buy a second unit (which worked) and ship back the first unit, TWICE THE WORK, thanks GE.. The second unit was a 6200 BTU unit. Makes me wonder if GE is trying to get rid of older units with wifi problems because I think some people won't be using the wifi and/or bother to return it once they discover the wifi doesn't work.

Not so quiet

I like the features and look of this air conditioner. And it was quiet when I first got it. One year later, it rattles everywhere. Louder than my previous unit that was 15 years old. The plastic parts are cheap and flimsy, and the compressor vibrates them loose. Find/fix one rattle, another one starts! Will probably go with another brand next time.
