I purchased this extremely expensive fridge thinking I was getting a top of the line big fridge. 2 years in it keeps throwing IFE codes for a problem with the evaporator fan motor. I researched it. Checked everything on the fridge cleaned everything and trouble shooted everything. And when you research it they have a history of motor problems. I called customer service and they said they would do a customer satisfaction repair for no more then $445.00. I called my appliance parts company near by and the retail price for the motor original equipment is only $103.00. This is unsatisfactory. If you cant make a product that lasts at least 5 years then dont make anything. Do not buy LG anything.

understand this refrigerator because I liked the design it is modern and with the capacity that we require unfortunately it has given me problems first it was the sealed system which fortunately they repaired and now it is the ice maker motor...so it no longer works there is a guarantee

Probably wont win with this review but our 2 year old LG refrigerator is terrible The compressor failed after buying this brand new from Home Depot. 2 years And then the customer service was terrible as well. The tech called in sick the day of the repair and we had to wait another week. Cant get a hold of anyone who can explain no texts returned no emails. Terrible

Loved it. Tho was annoyed about unnecessary gadgetry/think dumb. Till the E FF error code fan failure after 3 years. Never had a fridge fail in anything under 15 years in past. Previous white lg still works in garage after 18 years. Post COVID drop in quality like many other products. For this price fridge should last a century. Get act in gear or lose future sales.

Loud motor knocking frozen insulation shifting

Purchased the unit in 2020 without the extended warranty. I relied on the high reputation of LG to produce a high quality product. I was wrong. Certain parts were color mismatched. The linear might knocks and the right side refrigerator door makes sounds as though there is a shifting ice buildup on the inside and letting loose with an occasional crack. The motor knocking and ice shifting and cracking sounds happening at all hours of the day and night were not what I expected to happen. EVER.

I bought this Refrigerator in May 2020 and we started having problems with the ice maker about 9 months later. The freezer drawer plastic flimsy wheels broke and fell off. The ice maker in the top refrigerator stopped working in April 2024. I have been asking/requesting for someone to come and make the nessesary repairs for the last 3 years finally someone from LG came to take a look he ordered a new ice maker because the one in the refrigerator is burnt out He did replace the broken drawer and ice maker in the freezer. Were still waiting on the new ice maker. In the fridge area.

Over-all and generally speaking we are satisfied with the operation of this LG refrigerator. Recently we had to have the teeny-tiny water dispensing switch replaced because of a build-up/accumulation of a white chalking substance on this very small and intricate switch. The total charge to replace this switch it is the size of a 25-cent piece was $250.00. The repair personnel had a virtual frustrating fit dismantling the water/ice dispensing insert apparatus located inside the refrigerator door because there is SO-O-O-O MUCH DELICATE THIN INFLEXIBLE INTRICATE PLASTIC which inhibited them from conducting this repair/replace job in an efficient manner. Breaking one tiny piece of the devices plastic would have proved ruinous and very costly$$ Two hours to dismantle this ice/water insert apparatus replace this 25-cent sized delicate switch then re-assemble this very delicate intricate plastic-ridden poorly designed OVER-engineered dispensing unit. What/who are the engineering department that signed-off on this menagerie?? A teeny-tiny deeply embedded switch stopped this entire home refrigeration from performing its intended use And our LG refrigerator is only a few years old Come on...what do we call this planned obsolescence? Yesterday 4/2/2024 a small piece of plastic broke INSIDE the release device of our LG Smart Inverter Magnetron microwave oven. HOW on Earth are we supposed to gain entry into this sealed door release apparatus to replace hopefully this broken piece of plastic?? If LG is going to keep using plastic-plastic-plastic then I suggest using THICKER HEAVIER-DUTY plastic. We are retired folks and we DO NOT abuse our appliances slamming doors on appliances mis-using appliances etc.. however this Magnetron razzle-dazzle microwave oven is only 2-1/2 years old So are we supposed to pay another several hundred $dollars to replace another teeny-tiny piece of embedded plastic on yet another LG home/kitchen appliance?? We are RETIRED on a FIXED INCOME. We purchased these LG appliances because we were FULLY assured they would not break in the short term and would OUT-PERFORM other brands of home/kitchen appliances. We SINCERELY wish a CERTIFIED FACTORY LG engineer/designer/repair person would call AND VISIT US TO DISCUSS AND H-E-L-P US. Why?? Because in another 2 years when this teeny-tiny 25-cent-size water dispensing switch becomes inoperable on our LG refrigerator and when-and-if we can get this tiny piece of broken plastic replace inside our LG microwave door release apparatus the cost of repairs will be nearly half the cost of a brand new appliance. Bought it in November and like it except the bins on the left door are quite narrow and the left door slams hard.

4yr old LG Refrigerator Issues

4 yr old $2k LG refrigerator that compressor ice maker went out. Technician has been out 5 times and still not fixed. Tech said compressor on my fridge is rare that he hadnt seen one like that-ever. Not sure if the fridge is shot or technician didnt know what hes doing. Basically been without a functioning fridge for 6 weeks. Technician said plan on LG compressors going out every 4-5 yrs and LG will only provide a minuscule amount if fridge is deemed unrepairable. Have extended warranty now working through them but still getting same tech. Have requested a new tech but have not been called back yet. Had a previous LG fridge that was still going strong after 15 years. We just want a working fridge that lasts more than 4 yrs for $2k. IMHO stay away from LG.

We love our LG appliances. We reached out to LG inquiring about a cosmetic defect on the refrigerator. LG immediately responded. A tech was dispatched the issue fixed in less than a week Impeccable service

This is my worst experience with a refrigerator that Ive ever had. LG customer support is extremely lacking as well. The compressors in these are junk and go out very quickly. My fridge didnt last a year and a half before needing major repairs. Spoke with LG and have been waiting for a month and a half already they pretended to put a rush on things when i called back again but that was untrue as nothing has changed. So if you buy this plan on going with out a fridge for months. We had to go without and live out of coolers with 6 kids through the holidays not cool LG. The ice maker in the door is so heavy the door slams if you dont close it lightly. The shelving is made of cheap plastic and breaks easily. The wheels on the freezer drawer were broke when i bought it. The black stainless steel is also junk and starts to peel rather quickly and is no where near fingerproof as it shows every thing.
